When a scan is available, I use the point cloud (processed in Autodesk Recap) as the reference to model over in Revit.

I work remotely from Buenos Aires, so I do not capture data on site: scanning, measuring and site verification are done by your team or a local provider, and I model from what you send. A model is only as reliable as its source data, so where the data is unclear I mark the assumption for field verification instead of guessing.
