Revit Modeling for US Architecture Firms

Since 2020 I've worked as a remote Revit modeler and BIM drafter for US architecture firms, including an ongoing role as Project Manager / BIM Specialist with Building Ingenuity in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Most of my remote work has used feet, inches and square feet, following US sheet and dimensioning conventions. I also work natively in metric, since that's how I was trained and how I practice in Argentina — so a project with mixed-unit consultants isn't a problem.

In practice, my morning overlaps with the US East Coast's morning, and there's still working overlap with Central and Mountain time by early afternoon. Call windows and delivery times are agreed per project. Note that the US and Argentina change (or don't change) clocks on different dates, so the exact overlap shifts by an hour a few times a year.

Code compliance is the part of a US project that stays with your firm. That includes:

• Compliance with the applicable building code, fire code, energy code and ADA requirements, including state and local amendments
• Permit applications and the exchange with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
• The licensed architect or engineer of record who reviews, signs and seals the documents
• On-site measurement and verification of existing conditions
• Design decisions and the drawing standard: I follow your template and sample sheets

I am a licensed architect in Argentina; I am not a licensed architect in the United States and do not sign or seal drawings for US projects.
